BCN Art Academy

LOA for Creativity

Chasing a dream isn’t just about skill—it’s about feeding the soul and embracing the journey of growth.

In 2024, I spent three months at the Barcelona Art Academy to deepen my understanding of the human figure. I've loved painting for as long as I can remember—it has always been part of me. While I had taken some classes in Venezuela and high school in Texas, most of what I knew was self-taught, guided by intuition. But I wanted to take the time to learn the fundamentals and grow as an artist.

Barcelona, one of the most artistic cities in the world, felt like the perfect place to do this. The energy, the history, the endless sources of inspiration—it all made the experience even more special. At the academy, I dedicated myself to studying anatomy, structure, and technique in a way I never had before. It was challenging, humbling, and incredibly rewarding.

Beyond improving my technical skills, this experience taught me so much about growth. I met incredible artists from all over the world, expanding my network and learning from their unique perspectives. It reminded me that no matter how much we think we know, there is always room to learn, refine, and evolve.

But above all, this journey reinforced something deeper: when you have a dream, you have to go after it. That itch, that pull towards something bigger—it’s there for a reason. Pursuing it is what fuels our souls. Taking this leap to study art in Barcelona wasn’t just about improving my skills; it was about honoring my passion and giving myself the space to grow into the artist I want to be.
